Future Music Review
After rock came post-rock, and people tended to gaze at their shoes a lot more. Albeit while serving up luscious guitarscapes and epic, spacey melodies, so who cares where they looked? Sample Magic doesn't, clearly. They've gone out of their way to capture 500MB of atmospheric live instrumentation in just that very manner.
Think sweeping Johnny Mate-style riffs, riding drums awash with FX and electronica, and you're about there. The 250 odd album-ready loops and hits are joined by a bevvy of solid percussive elements, MIDI files, and custom kits for your samplers, too. Tempos are in either 100 or 120BPM, and all make for a rather pleasant collection of textured loops. Great for soundtrack work, or just staring at your feet to. 8/10
