Secrets of House Music - The Course

Soh book

Since the publication of our debut book, The Secrets of House Music Production, we have been inundated by requests for people to attend a course to learn the techniques and tricks of house production first hand. So we listened, and over the past three months have fine-tuned a brand new course, with the award-winning Point Blank College in London, and now we're pleased to be able to offer a first set of dates.

Summary

Taking inspiration from the successful book Secrets of House Music Production, this intensive weekend course is aimed at Logic users and reveals professional tips, tricks and techniques to take your tracks to the next level.

Guiding you through the creation of an original track will be expert producers Bruce Aisher and Sharooz. Bruce has released tracks and remixes on many respected labels including Bedrock, Global Underground and Lost Language.

DJ, producer, label manager - and SM head honcho Sharooz - will present an insiders guide to the music business and host a music industry Q&A. His tracks have featured in sets from the likes of Pete Tong, David Guetta and D Ramirez amongst many others.

PLUS! Every participant will leave with an exclusive goodie bag worth over £300 including a copy of the book, Sample Magic sample packs and a Point Blank T shirt.

The weekend course takes place in London's Old Street 3 and 4 July, 2010 11am-7pm. The cost of the course is £395.

Hi Sounds exciting... Will there be a course in New Zealand? Didn't havemuch time readingthe thread but I believe there might be an oline course in the near future. thought I'm not a logic user, I guess I'll learn something from it. Used to use Sony Acir Pro, but now learning to use Abelton... Many thanks...

Hey Javed, We'll add NZ to the list... And yes, we're still thinking about the online course as well. Thanks for the feedback.

Hi Stefan, This is a course about making great house tunes; not how to use Logic. Although we'll be teaching on Logic - for convenience as much as anything else - the techniques are suitable for all sequencers, and I know two of the tutors are Cubase / Ableton users! So don't worry about the Logic side of things: this is much more about house music production than any one DAW. Dave

I am intrerested in doing this course but Im a non logic user atm, but from the book I have already started to apply some of the techniques discussed within the book and it is helping me move my productions forward. will you be running this course at a later date so I can get myself up and running on logic??

I use ableton as i'm a pc user & am currently building my own music pc, as this is a logic course will you be looking to do a ableton course? I see pointblank only do minimal courses on ableton & the others are all on logic for deep house/trance etc. The Dvd sounds good too

craig forrest at 4:14pm 16th June 2010 - Reply

Craig - This course only Logic I'm afraid. I'll see what we can do re a potential future Ableton course. Dave
